One of the most effective ways to connect with someone is to try to see the world from their perspective. I've taken this principle a mile high into a dizzying corkscrew while conceptualizing and illustrating these pieces for an exhibition on Aerobatic Flight at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum. Taking my inspiration from legendary illustrator Brad Holland and choosing to create nearly every element in the pair of pieces through digital painting was a long process, but the feelings of vibrancy and vertigo in the finished products was more than worth it.
